چکیده

We report on an effort to use executable modeling languages for developing software for the Ericsson LTE-A uplink test bed. The test bed was a part of a 4G telecommunications system, that was presented at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, February 2011. The requirements for the delivered software included efficient real-time performance for signal processing on new hardware as well as a firm non-negotiable delivery deadline. Our results show that the existing model transformations were not efficient enough on the new platform and that model transformations across paradigms is a challenging task; to meet the deadline and the requirements the generated code had to be manually optimised.

Influence of heat generation on the phase transformations and impact responses of composite plates with embedded SMA wires

In the present research, in contrast to the available papers, not only the superelasticity but also the shape memory effects are taken into account in determination of the impact responses. At the same time, in addition to modifying Brinson’s model for the shape memory alloys (SMAs), to include new parameters and loading events, and Hertz contact law, distributions of the SMA phases are conside...

A framework to experiment optimizations for real-time and embedded software

Typical constraints on embedded systems include code size limits, upper bounds on energy consumption and hard or soft deadlines. To meet these requirements, it may be necessary to improve the software by applying various kinds of transformations like compiler optimizations, specific mapping of code and data in the available memories, code compression, etc. However, a transformation that aims at...

A Transformation Composition Framework for Model Driven Engineering

Model Driven Engineering is a promising approach where software development processes lead from abstract models to code generation. In order to support these software processes, it is important to provide means that are flexible and that can be tailored to match specific requirements of engineering domains–like health care, telecommunications, or embedded systems. In other word, to build the to...

A Transformation-Based Model of Evolutionary Architecting for Embedded System Product Lines

In many industries, embedded software plays an increasingly important role in defining the characteristics of the products. Often, a product line approach is used, and the system architecture is developed through evolution rather than being redone from scratch for each product. In this paper, we present a model of such an evolutionary process based on architecture transformations. The model att...

On descent for coalgebras and type transformations

We find a criterion for a morphism of coalgebras over a Barr-exact category to be effective descent and determine (effective) descent morphisms for coalgebras over toposes in some cases. Also, we study some exactness properties of endofunctors of arbitrary categories in connection with natural transformations between them as well as those of functors that these transformations induce between co...
